2. Can I use this inverter to charge my batteries?

Yes. Compatible with 48V battery banks, this solar inverter charger keeps your battery charged with solar panels and AC/generator.

3. Can I use the inverter with a 24V system?

No. This model can only work with 48V battery system.

4. What size inverter should I buy?

Sizing the right power output.

Make sure your inverter charger can handle at least 1½ times the load of continuous demand you expect to have regularly. To figure this out, simply add up the wattage of each device you plan on running simultaneously. Be sure the inverters you’re considering will be able to supply enough AC power.

Check your battery voltage.

The DC voltage rating on the inverter will tell you what battery bank it is compatible with. For example, a 48V battery bank will require an inverter that is compatible with 48V DC input.

Size your installation spaces.

What area or space will you set your inverter? Make sure the inverter will fit in the space you have in mind with enough room around it for proper ventilation and no fire hazards.

Remote operation is important.

5. Do I need Modified Sine Wave, or Pure Sine Wave?

Modified sine wave inverters are older technology and generally less expensive. They can be used for many standard appliances but may cause trouble with delicate electronics or audio equipment. Some equipment may work but run hotter than normal.
Pure sine wave inverters are a bigger investment, but much more versatile.

Output voltage wave form is pure sine wave with very low harmonic distortion and clean power like utility-supplied electricity.
Inductive loads like microwave ovens and motors run faster, quieter and cooler.

6. How do I hook up the Inverter? What size cable should I use, and is it included?

When connecting the inverter to the battery and solar panels, please read all of the instructions and cautions in the manual before beginning the installation. The minimum recommended wiring gauge for battery wiring is 2AWG, PV wiring is 4AWG, AC input and out wiring is 8AWG.
Incorrect or improper connection points and corroded wires can cause great heat to melt the wire insulation, burning surrounding materials, and even cause fire, so ensure that the connection is tightened

7. Does the Bluetooth Module work with this unit?

Yes, the Bluetooth 2 Module (Model: RCM-BT2) is compatible with the solar inverter. When paired with the DC Home APP you can view system information through your tablet or smart phone.

8. Can I use the solar inverter without batteries when using PV or Mains?

No, at minimum you need to have batteries connected to the unit.

9. Does this solar inverter limit PV current? I'm not getting my full power?

When setting up the solar inverter, ensure Program 36 (PV Charging Current) and Program 7 (Maximum Charge Current) are set to their maximum to ensure no PV current clipping.

Excellent product

Installation instructions were clear, with appropriate tips and warnings highlighted throughout. Felt like a pretty daunting project at first, but that made it easy. Be sure to research ahead of time, but if you want an off-grid system, this worked great for us.

It handles everything i throw at it & pull from it

I have it installed in a remote cabin with solar & wind charging the batteries, sometimes I need a generator to keep up. Having the ability to set & monitor the battery condition, the usage demand & auto-start a generator when other methods can't keep up is great, I do wish that the remote control had Bluetooth with the ability to monitor the inverter readout.

I've had the Renogy product for close to a year and it works like a dream. No issues. I rarely connect to shore power and don't use many 110 devices at once. I connect a 12v refrigerator to the battery through the Renogy inverter. Like I said... I love my setup. Not in the unit full time and do not max out the load.
